What is the Vacustyler?
This technology was originally designed for astronauts who – due to zero gravity in space – suffered from poor blood circulation, which can result in severe health risks. How does Vacustyler work?
The patient lies in a bed where the lower body is placed in a chamber/vessel in which air pressure can be lowered or raised alternatively. This procedure functions somewhat like an air pump. In every lower pressure phase, the arteries in the skin swell and plasma and oxygen begin to circulate and be fully absorbed by the veins and vessels. For every raised pressure phase, the veins and vessels are squeezed and carbon dioxide and any waste is transported away.
