Sun exposure, genetics and skin type are factors that can cause dilated or visible blood vessels on the face leading to redness and flushing. Prominent thread veins (telangiectasia) are small superficial red, purple or blue veins which appear most commonly on the face and legs. Thread veins occur when the vein dilates and become large enough to be visible through the skin.
We offer 2 different treatments to ensure optimal results. The best way to treat these blood vessels is to use Intense pulsed light (IPL) or long pulsed Nd:YAG laser. The short wavelength intense pulsed light (IPL) system is used to eliminate superficial thread veins while the long wavelength Nd:YAG specifically targets both superficial and deep red, purple or blue veins, causing the blood vessel to shrink and disappear in many cases.
