What is Carboxy therapy?

This technique of eliminating cellulite involves injecting carbon dioxide into the subcutaneous tissue through a very tiny needle.

Carbon dioxide kills off fat cells and dilates blood vessels in the area. With wider blood vessels, there will be an increase in blood flow and a greater circulation of oxygen. This eliminates the build up of fluid from between the cells and results in fewer fat cells and a firmer body.

Carbon dioxide is a natural by product of metabolism and is not toxic to the body. You will see improvements after only a few sessions.

What is Carboxy therapy used for?

Carboxy therapy is used for the treatment and removal of cellulite from various parts of the body. It also allows for fat reduction in specific areas that are difficult to improve through exercise.

How does Carboxy Therapy work?

This treatment involves injecting carbon dioxide into the subcutaneous tissue. From the injection point, the carbon dioxide diffuses easily into adjacent tissues.

The effects of carbon dioxide are 2 fold. Firstly, it mechanically kills fat cells. Secondly, it causes blood vessels to dilate. With wider vessels, there is a stronger blood flow and oxygen delivery to the area. This increase in oxygen helps it eliminates the built up of fluid from between the cells, resulting in fewer fat cells and firmer subcutaneous tissue

Is it painful?

No. You will experience a light tingling sensation near the injection site that will disappear within a few seconds. Due to the increase in blood circulation, the area surrounding the injection site may feel warmer for 10 to 20 minutes.

How many sessions are needed?

Generally, between 10 and 15 sessions are necessary to eliminate cellulite. Depending on the individual and the extent of the cellulite problem, treatment should be carried out 2 to 3 times a week, with each session lasting between 10 and 15 minutes.

When can improvements be seen?

Noticeable difference can be seen usually after 5 sessions. Subcutaneous tissue will appear firmer and skin healthier. At the end of the treatment, you will have firmer, cellulite-free skin.

How long does Carboxy Therapy last?

This depends on your lifestyle, amount of regular exercise and diet. With a healthy lifestyle, you can stay cellulite free indefinitely. Most patients would see the formation of cellulite after 5 to 6 months. Follow-up treatments of 3 to 5 sessions will help maintain that smooth and firm skin tone.

Is carbon dioxide toxic?

No. Carbon dioxide is a by product of metabolism and is produced naturally by the body. It is transported in the blood and exhaled through the lungs.
